In the age of the agile Law firm, and in a time of mass digital transformation within the legal sector, this session will explore the challenges and benefits being faced by the community. Exploring the cultural reinvention, increased collaboration with both clients and suppliers alike.  

This private event will engage key thought leaders on the technological transformation upon the industry, and debate the long-lasting digital legacy that was, and is, currently being written for the future of the legal profession.  

 The theme of the session will be focused on 5 core topics:    

  1. The age of the agile law firm and what this means in terms of leadership, upskilling and scalable deployment 
  2. Core leadership focus for successful execution, flexible working and talent attraction 
  3. What does disruptive technology actually mean to businesses? 
  4. How far should collaboration go with suppliers and clients and what does this look like? 
  5. In terms of data privacy and transparency, and in light of increased digital transformation, what are the challenges being faced and how can they be overcome?

Speakers

Julia Fraser, Vice President, UK & Ireland Sales, CenturyLink

Julia is Vice President of Sales for UK & Ireland, focused on ensuring the continued growth of CenturyLink’s sales in EMEA with direct responsibility for the UK and Ireland Enterprise business. This role was newly created following the acquisition of Level 3 Communications by CenturyLink in December 2017.

Julia’s team includes the direct sales teams focusing on Enterprise, Wholesale and UK Government and includes the sales engineers.  In her role, Julia manages a cross-functional team including employees from Operations, Finance, Marketing and other functions to deliver on the CenturyLink EMEA goals.

Julia has spent over 19 years working in the hi-tech industry starting her career at the smartphone operating system joint venture, Symbian, moving to Nokia and then into telecoms in 2013 joining Level 3 Telecommunications.

In March 2018, Julia was named in Capacity Magazine’s 20 Women to Watch in Telecoms list.


Mark Needham, Business Development Manager, Worldwide Sales and Strategy, Webex and Workplace Transformation, Cisco

In working with Cisco’s Collaboration Architectures Go-To-Market Sales and Strategy teams, Mark Needham’s career has been entwined with the evolution of technology, digital disruption and leveraging technologies to drive business value for customers and employees alike. Recent focus includes the adoption of collaboration technologies, strategies to unlock the business value these drive and leading cross functional teams to deliver innovative solutions to business problems.

Mark completed his MBA from Warwick Business School in 2014, focused on business growth strategy, market analysis and innovation. Mark’s dissertation researched the application of new technologies and data to drive highly personalized relationships with consumers and employees.

Mark lives in London, is married with a new baby, a young daughter and is passionate for all things sport and travel.


Jacqueline de Rojas CBE, President, TechUK

Jacqueline de Rojas is the President of techUK, the industry trade body whose purpose is to work with government to create conditions for the tech sector to thrive. She sits as a Non-Executive Director on the board of UK technology business Rightmove plc; on the board of Costain plc, the nation’s smart infrastructure solutions business; and appointed to the board of tech consultancy and skills firm FDM Group plc in 2019.

Jacqueline is an advisor to fast moving tech businesses and a business mentor at Merryck offering board and executive level coaching. She is the co-chair at the Institute of Coding, advises the board of Accelerate-Her, The Youth Project and is especially delighted to lend her support to the Girlguiding Association for technology transformation. She is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion which informs where she places her support.

In 2016 she entered the @Computerweekly Hall of Fame after being voted Computer Weekly’s Most Influential Woman in IT 2015; she was listed on Debretts 2016 500 People of Influence – Digital & Social and named in Europe’s Inspiring Fifty most inspiring female role models for 2017. She was presented with the 2017 Catherine Variety award for Science and Technology and the 2018 Women in Tech Award for Advocate of the Year acknowledging her contribution to diversity. Included in the #50LeadingLights Kind Leaders list by @womenoffuture.

Jacqueline was awarded a CBE for Services to International Trade in Technology in the Queen’s New Year Honours list 2018.


Mark Parr, Global Director of Information Technology, HFW

Mark has a strong pedigree of delivering information systems and technology across the globe, for a vast range of organisations. Mark begin his career as a Technology apprentice within the British Army, and built a successful 27 year military career delivering command and control networks, technology solutions and communications and information systems in support of military, peace keeping and stabilisation operations globally.

Post his military career, Mark went on to join KPMG UK LLP in 2016, initially undertaking a People Operations role. It was during this time that Mark quickly established himself as a subject matter expert in Risk Management, Cyber Security and Information Assurance leading to him being appointed as the Chief Information Security Officer and Head of Information Assurance across the UK. In this role, Mark delivered various certification standards as well as lead the migration to Office 365.

Mark joins HFW as the Global Director of IT; a role that he is sees as being challenging but one that will allow him to demonstrate his wide portfolio of skills and expertise.
