BSB appoints Capsticks to provide external legal support for its regulatory decision-making

Following a tender exercise, the Bar Standards Board (BSB) is pleased to have appointed Capsticks to provide external legal advice and support in relation to its regulation of barristers.

The firm’s remit will include advising on any legal challenges to the BSB’s regulatory decisions and in other matters in which the BSB may require third party specialist advice.

BSB Director of Professional Conduct, Sara Jagger, said: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Capsticks to provide us with the external legal advice and support we need to complement our in-house legal experts. Their response to our tender was excellent and they were able to demonstrate substantial experience in regulatory and disciplinary law.”

Nimi Bruce, Partner at Capsticks, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by The Bar Standards Board. We feel our experience in the regulatory sector means we are well placed to work alongside the in-house BSB legal experts. We look forward to working closely together.”
