Dr David Erdos, who from October 2017 will be a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty, has been appointed Deputy Director of CIPIL. David is a specialist in the law of data protection and leads the information law work of the Centre. David is CIPIL’s link with many scholars throughout the University with an interest in information ethics, including the strategic network on Big Data.

David replaces Dr Kathy Liddell, Herchel Smith Senior Lecturer in Intellectual Property, who had been Deputy Director of CIPIL for the last 10 years. We would like to acknowledge our gratitude to Kathy, who is the inaugural Director of the Centre for Law, Medicine and the Life Sciences.
