The Agile Movement

LegalTech Talks live 17th February at 15:00 – 16:00 (GMT).

In the age of the agile law firm, how can project leaders respond rapidly to change, whilst exploring the opportunities that purposeful projects offer their firms.  

This session will explore the specific project systems as well as the overarching strategic goals that drive organisations to improve, with a specific focus on the delivery of competitive client solutions and services.

Chris White, Strategic Technology Advisor and CIO,
WhiteBoard Consulting (Chair)

Chris started his career in Financial Services holding senior IT positions at NPI Asset Management, Schroders, Henderson Investors and Cogent Investment Operations. He joined Law Firm Ashurst as CIO in 2002. Since leaving in 2009 he has undertaken a number of roles including Interim IT Director of International law firm Kennedys and CIO of Cloud e mail management company Mimecast.

Chris is the former Global CIO of international law firm Clyde&Co where he managed an IT team of 150 staff across 45 offices globally and also lead the Business Acceptance Unit and Litigation Support. He advised a number of businesses on IT strategy and how to deliver value from technology.


Kate Basset, Global Head of Legal Project Management & Process Improvement

Kate’s team is a key part of Ashurst’s “NewLaw” legal service efficiency division, Ashurst Advance, and delivers project management and process solutions to drive efficiency across all types of legal matters.

With over fifteen years’ experience in the professional services industry, Kate is experienced in strategic analysis and process design, assisting clients to select and implement the most appropriate strategic legal solutions. She is passionate about using a variety of techniques to deliver performance improvement, and implementing lasting change for her clients.


Tara Walsh, Client Solutions Lead,
Foot Anstey

Previous to this she held senior positions in Business Development and Marketing in the legal market. However, it was her time outside of the legal market that Tara really developed the knowledge and skills she applies in her role today. Forever curious she was fascinated by computers in the early 90’s and learned to code. She then worked at a very entrepreneurial company in London which worked across a number of vertical and horizontal industries across the globe – this really honed her skills on understanding clients and markets. Having spent the last 15 years in law has allowed her to nurture the skills required to span business, legal and technology in a way that helps to differentiate Foot Anstey, whilst keeping clients front and centre. She has developed and led a number of successful client solutions at Foot Anstey and is passionate about disruption in the legal space.


Jas Bassi, Head of Solution Delivery,
Gateley

Jas has over 20 years of experience in the delivery of technology and transformation projects to a Professional and Financial Services audience. He is currently Head of Solution Delivery at Gateley, leading a team that is delivering Technology and Business Change projects and programme.

He has a keen interest in all things Legal Tech and Co-Chairs the Birmingham Law Society Legal Tech Committee.
