Business Development Associate

Expected Year 1 OTEOver £55,000 (OTE)

Netlaw Media is an established UK based legal information, education & training organisation incorporated to deliver world-class law events, conferences, training programs & on-line media to the UK, European and Global legal sectors.

With a record of selling out its last 30 major law events and 44 digital events in succession, Netlaw Media specialises in producing highly informative conferences, events, exhibitions and training programs delivered by renowned UK, European and Internationally acclaimed speakers from the legal and commercial worlds.

The Business Development Department:

With the role predominately based from Netlaw Media’s Head Office in Chelmsford, United Kingdom, with the flexibility of WFH, the Business Development team is a fast-paced, results orientated with an accommodating management structure. We have a dynamic team that centres on the development and nurture of each individual whilst providing additional training, opportunities and recognition for those that excel.

The Role

You will be reporting to the Head of Sales and pro-actively selling our industry leading events and portfolio to both existing and potential customers within the legal sector. You will be using professional sales tools and techniques in order to understand client needs, and then match those needs with our products and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Research, find new businesses to exhibit at our suit of events
  • Attract, engage, and sell to prospective suppliers through various methods including phone calls, research, networking and social media
  • Identify the needs of the prospect and influence decisions within the whole ‘decision making’ unit based on added value
  • Uphold the image & credibility of Netlaw Media, ensuring all questions, objections or conditions are met or answered
  • Follow up and develop long standing working relationships with CEO’s, of start-ups to well established industry suppliers and blue-chip organisations
  • Generate new business and increase revenue from existing clients
  • Track and measure your own development (supported by management team)
  • Work closely with Production, Marketing and Delegate team functions to deliver successful events and results and achieve KPIs
  • Accurately forecast and report activities and results
  • Provide input into the direction and strategy used for current and future campaigns.

Skills / Characteristics

The ideal candidate will be / have:

  • A Min of 2 years’ experience working in either an event delegate sales role or a commercial B2B outbound telesales role (Experience must be recent)
  • A desire to build a career in events
  • Driven and purposeful, committed, and hard-working, ambitious and motivated in order to keep up with the pace of the business
  • Intelligent, sharp, and logical
  • Tenacious, articulate and confident in engaging at director level
  • Resourceful, disciplined, thorough and able to demonstrate organisational skill
  • Professional, eager, and open to learn sales process
  • Willing to travel
  • Strong written abilities.

This role is offering a base salary of up to £32,000 + commission which could see the successful candidate surpassing £55,000+ OTE in the first year.

Senior Events Executive

£28,000 – £30,000 a year – Full-time, Permanent

With a record of selling out its last 28 major law events and over 39 virtual events in succession, Netlaw Media specialises in producing highly informative conferences, events both virtual and face to face, exhibitions and training programs delivered by renowned UK, European and Internationally acclaimed speakers from the legal and commercial worlds such as; James Caan from Dragons Den, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, who invented the WWW, Lord Digby Jones of Birmingham and leading inventor and futurist Ray Kurzweil to name a few.

Working alongside the Head of Event Operations, our hardworking but friendly team are now looking to appoint an experienced, competent, and enthusiastic Senior Events Executive to work full time within their events team, to work from their Head Office in Chelmsford, Essex, with WFH flexibility.

Requirements & Responsibilities include:

  • A minimum of 5 years events production / operations experience within the legal or professional services arena
  • A proven ability to identify, develop and roll out financially successful conferences and events from conception to completion
  • The ability to manage all aspects of conference production from pre-event planning through to post-event evaluation and reporting
    Providing end to end management of conferences including management of venues, facilities, suppliers, registration, delegates, AV & technical, transportation, exhibition & signage, stage set / design, crisis planning, health & safety, security and risk assessment
  • A confident phone manner, strong skills of persuasion and negotiation
  • A proven record of assisting in researching, contracting and negotiating with suppliers
  • A proven record of preparing and coordinating marketing campaigns including activities across social media, email and websites (Word Press)
  • Strong experience supporting and working alongside sales and marketing teams
  • Maintaining conference budgets as well as sourcing, negotiating and managing relationships with venues, suppliers and external vendors to achieve the highest standard of excellence and cost efficiencies
  • Ensuring that all conferences meet risk, brand and regulatory requirements
  • Work with Head of Event Operations in developing, implementing and managing processes and procedures to ensure strict adherence with hospitality guidelines and compliance policies
  • On-site conference management skills including assisting in greeting speakers, assisting in running the programme / stages, networking etc
  • Support with ad-hoc projects as directed by the Head of Event Operations
  • The ability to work on own initiative proactively and independently as well as follow instructions and be a team player.

This role will offer the right candidate both the opportunity to produce existing events and exhibitions whilst developing an international strategy of new events within the legal sector.

The successful candidate will need to be proactive, resilient and extremely confident when dealing with clients and suppliers at all levels. They will need to have excellent time management and project management skills, be motivated by achieving and exceeding targets and have an excellent command of English both written and verbal.

This role will be based from Netlaw Media’s head office in Chelmsford, Essex.

The basic salary for candidates with at least 5 years relevant experience will range from £28,000 – £30,000 p.a with an annual bonus (paid upon personal and event performance)

Events Executive

£23,500 – £26,000 a year – Full-time, Permanent

Working in a great team alongside the Head of Event Operations and Senior Events Executive, we are now looking to appoint an experienced Events Executive for the events team, to work from the Head Office in Chelmsford, Essex.

Responsibilities will include the following;

  • Manage all aspects of events from pre-event planning through to post-event evaluation and reporting.
  • Complete end to end management of events including: supplier management invoice reconciliation, management of venues, facilities, suppliers, registration, delegates, AV & technical, transportation, exhibition & signage, stage set/design, crisis planning, health & safety, security and risk assessment.
  • Source, negotiate and manage relationships with venues, suppliers and external vendors to achieve the highest standard of excellence and cost efficiencies.
  • Maintaining knowledge and relationships with all key stakeholders and the sales priorities in order to develop and implement effective events solutions.
  • Ensure all events meet risk, brand and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and managing processes and procedures to ensure strict adherence with hospitality guidelines and compliance policies.
  • Drive event evaluation techniques and provide status reports to key stakeholders.

You will need to be proactive, resilient as well as confident when dealing with clients at senior level. You will need to have excellent time management skills, be motivated by achieving and exceeding targets and have an excellent command of English both written and verbal.

The basic salary for candidates with at least 1 year’s relevant experience will range from £23,500 -£26,000 per annum.
