Masterclasses useful information

The ‘Executive Masterclass Series – Restructure, Survive, Succeed’ is a virtual and in person series of masterclasses, which are designed to overcome a wide range of issues facing law firms, of all sizes in the current climate.

Masterclasses offer delegates high-level, but specific learning objectives and task based assignments during the 2 hour delivery of educational content. Delivered by high-profile moderators, each session will be held under Chatham House Rule (the sessions will not be recorded, nor published post-event) allowing for open debate and discussion. Please see below detailed information in relation to the delivery of in person and virtual Masterlcasses.

Masterclass Virtual Format – FAQs

1. How do I join the online Masterclass?

Upon receipt, approval and payment of a registration, delegates will be receive joining instructions and access details via email.

2. What does my registration include?

Bookings include a two-hour masterclass delivered by a high profile moderator / tea, coffee and light refreshments delivered to the postal address provided (at the time of registration).

A full postal address should be provided for all registrants. Such data will be used for the purpose of delivering food and beverages as part of your purchase only. You can opt-out of receiving such items as part of your purchase. Please note that discounts cannot be offered.

3. Do I need to prepare before my Masterclass?

Approximately 3 days prior to your Masterclass you will receive an email detailing the essential information ahead of your virtual session. This will also include a pack prepared by your Moderator, which may include information relating to any tasks that will require completion on the day.

4. Do I need an account (Zoom, WebEx, Teams etc.)? 

Yes, the virtual Masterclasses will be hosted via Zoom. All registrants require a Zoom account and if you do not currently hold an account, we encourage you to create one before joining. Anyone with an approved registration can join the talk using the Zoom mobile app or desktop application for Windows and Mac.

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of Zoom to avoid sany access issues. You can easily update the Zoom app on your desktop or check to see if you are due for an update. To do so, you’ll have to access your profile menu in the top-right corner of your screen. A pop-up will inform you if you are up-to-date, and if not Zoom will automatically begin the latest version download.

5. If I am unable to attend, will I be given access to the session recording? 

No, all LegalTech Talks Masterclases are held under Chatham House Rule. Delegates can use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the Moderator, nor that of any other participant, may be revealed. It is the Moderators discretion whether they choose to share materials with delegate following their Masterclass.

6. Can I ask the moderator and my peers questions during the class? 

Absolutely, each Masterclass is Moderator-led however designed to be interactive! Due to the structured nature and format of Masterclasses, Moderators will be required to keep the class on time and in line with the learning objectives.

7. Can I leave and re-join the class should I need to?

Please respect the class, and to avoid disruption and distraction we kindly ask all delegates to attend the full Masterclasses, and only in urgent circumstances be excused.

8. What is the difference between LegalTech Talks and the Masterclasses? 

‘LegalTech Talks’ offers an free of charge open discussion environment for the legal sector to engage, share best practices and insights, in an unstructured format. The majority of talks are provided as a recording to subscribers post-event.

In comparison, the Masterclass series offer delegates high-level learning objectives and task based assignments during the 2 hour delivery of educational content.  These are paid sessions held under Chatham House Rule.

In-Person Format Masterclass – FAQs

1. When will I receive confirmation of my booking? 

Upon receipt, approval and payment of a registration, delegates will be receive joining instructions and the essential information for their booking. Confirmation of booking will include detailed information with regards to date, time and location of the selected Masterclass(es).

2. What does my registration include?

Bookings include a two-hour masterclass delivered by a high profile moderator / tea, coffee and light refreshments.

3. Do I need to prepare before my Masterclass?

Approximately 3 days prior to your Masterclass you will receive an email detailing the essential information ahead of your virtual session. This will also include a pack prepared by your Moderator, which may include information relating to any tasks that will require completion on the day.

4. What will happen to my registration if Tier 3 restrictions are placed on the chosen location? 

The movement of UK regions into local lockdowns, does not impact business meetings of up to 30. The advice from the Department for Media Culture and Sport is to check local council restrictions, as each have autonomy to add additional restrictions within their borough.

Netlaw Media will seek clarification prior to events, and make contact with local councils to ensure that delegates are aware of any restrictions that apply. If restrictions impact the delivery of an in person Masterclass, the session will be offered virtually, alternatively credit will be moved to a future / alternate session.

People are advised not to travel within ‘Very High’ areas – other than for education, and or work (restrictions will apply for overnight stays).

Covid secure venues can continue to operate with protocols and social distancing measures in place.

The recently announced ‘Local COVID Alert Levels’ and Tiered System (Medium, High and Very High), do not currently impact business meetings.

5. What options will I will offered, if I am unable to attend, due to health or other relating circumstances that impact my ability to physically attend?

If a delegate is unable to attend an in person  Masterclass, they will be offered the option of joining virtually, alternatively credit will be moved to a future / alternate session.

6. Can I ask the moderator and my peers questions during the class? 

Absolutely, each Masterclass is Moderator-led however designed to be interactive! Due to the structured nature and format of Masterclasses, Moderators will be required to keep the class on time and in line with the learning objectives.

7. What Health and Safety protocols will be introduced?

  • One way entrance and exits
  • Single file traffic flow
  • Social distancing measures, including directional signage
  • Tea & Coffee / Light refreshments (packaged)
  • Temperature and track / trace protocols
  • Alcohol based sanitising stations located around the venue
  • Face coverings to be worn by all onsite
  • Cleaning breaks between presentations
  • All to adhere to the Netlaw Media ‘Code of Conduct’
  • Pre-event Health Assessment.
